| Purpose of the guideline: | In addition to infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss(RPL) is one of the most common clinical fertility problems, which is a complex disease involving many factors with diverse causes. The traditional beliefs hold that female factors play a decisive role in its occurrence. With the deepening of research in recent years, increasing evidences have also established that male factors also play a crucial role in RPL. Therefore, the Reproductive Andrology Group of the Professional Committee of Reproductive Medicine of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association organized experts in the field of reproductive andrology to conduct in-depth discussion on the assessment and clinical management of male factors, including chromosomal abnormalities, semen parameters, sperm aneuploidy, polymorphisms of some genes and epigenetic inheritance of sperm, etc. This consensus can provide expert consultation and advice for medical professionals engaged in reproductive medicine and andrology. |
