Purpose of the guideline: | Atypical Kashin-Beck disease refers to the cases with no typical clinical signs of Kashin-Beck disease in the metacarpal and phalangeal bones, but calcaneus shortening and talus collapse. At present, the diagnostic criteria do not specifically emphasize the clinical characteristics of atypical Kashin-Beck disease. These patients are often prone to missed diagnosis and treatment. There is currently a lack of consensus on the diagnosis and treatment of atypical Kashin-Beck disease in China. In this context, the consensus was developed to promote standardized diagnosis and treatment of atypical Kashin-Beck disease by clinical doctors and endemic disease researchers. |
