Purpose of the guideline: Photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) has emerged as a vital modality in modern dermatology, particularly in therapeutic and aesthetic applications. PBMT has demonstrated significant efficacy in reducing wrinkles, improving hyperpigmentation, and alleviating inflammatory skin disorders. To standardize the clinical application of PBMT in dermatology, the Expert Consensus Group on PBMT in Dermatology has formulated this consensus, based on the latest research advancements while considering the specific healthcare context in China. This consensus provides evidence-based recommendations on PBMT’s mechanisms of action, indications and safety, aiming to guide clinical practice and foster the sustainable development of the subspecialty of aesthetic dermatology.
