Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a neuropsychiatric disorder characterized by the presence of obsessions and compulsions. It is estimated that OCD affects 2-3% of the general population and is associated with substantial disability and morbidity(1). In Brazil, as in different regions worldwide, OCD is underdiagnosed and many patients do not have access to evidence-based treatments. This proposal for the Brazilian treatment guidelines of OCD aims to summarize the evidence-based treatments to guide clinical interventions for patients with OCD in different clinical settings.
