Purpose of the guideline: Frozen shoulder, called "Loujianfeng" or "shoulder pain" in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM), is the most common shoulder joint disease. The purpose of treatment of frozen shoulder is reduce the pain, improve the mobility of shoulder and enable better shoulder function. TCM treatment is an important part of conservative treatment and has unique therapeutic advantages. However, though clinical guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of this disease have been issued in the past, they are still not comprehensive enough, which had no systematically sorted out the understanding of frozen shoulder in TCM and high level evidence-based clinical research evidence. Therefor, It is necessary to further comprehensively summarize the latest research evidence to revise the TCM diagnosis and treatment guidelines for this disease. Based on the published clinical diagnosis and treatment guidelines (T/CACM 1179-2019), this guideline will systematically sorts out the latest research evidence to guide the development of medical treatment, scientific research, and teaching of the disease better.
