Purpose of the guideline: Lumbar disc herniation(LDH) is a common and frequently encountered disease in orthopedics. Most patients with LDH can improve symptoms or signs through conservative treatment. TCM treatment is an important part of conservative treatment and is widely used in clinical practice. However, for the diagnosis and treatment of this disease, the previous domestic and foreign guidelines have not mentioned the evidence classification and recommendations for TCM treatment. Meanwhile, the differentiation and staging about TCM syndrome in domestic guidelines are not uniform, the TCM treatment methods are not standardized, and the TCM superior treatment lacks a system, which are the more prominent issues in this field. Therefor, it is significance to develop a TCM clinical diagnosis and treatment guidelines for LDH based on high level evidence-based evidence. This guideline aims to provide guidance and reference about diagnosis and treatment of LDH for relevant clinicians and practitioners, and provide a scientific reference basis for the clinical precision prevention and treatment of this disease and the international promotion and application of superior TCM treatments.
